Sunday & Monday ~

                                                                      A Wonderful Day

 - Nick & I attended church this morning, and we feel just blessed to see familiar faces, having made friends these past weeks...a wonderful feeling and it makes us feel more and more at home in Salatiga! YES!

Everyone is so kind and friendly - the family of God is ever present in Salatiga!  There was Lucie our German friend and she, Aan and Mega sang wonderfully on the worship team!  We met 2 new new German gals who came to visit from a nearby town.   A Korean family also joined us this morning!  Pretty cool!  Always lots happening as people transition to and from this area!  Our speaker the principal of the Elementary school spoke from a book called "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn which you know is a VERY precious a book to me and helped me so much!  He also recommended a book he has read many times called Within Heavens Gates by Rebecca Springer.  Sounds like another wonderful resource!  Love a good recommendation...don't you?

We got back to the house to prepare dinner for our guests!

We were so pleased to enjoy the company of Pak Jono (giving respect "Mr") his wife, Kasum and daughter, Intan who attends the University in town studying to become a teacher!  Kasum said she wanted to bring us a chicken dinner at our house...OK Kasum - terimah kasih!  I too had prepared some dishes and set the table for 5.  Right at 6:30 pm they arrived each carrying white rice, a yellow sauce 'opor' for over the rice (very good!) chicken, cake, banana leaf with a sticky rice, coconut & brown sugar in it, lontong (sticky rice rolled in a banana leaf and then cooked)  It was all delicious!

Another BIG treat was that Pak Jono first went into the kitchen to show me how to make sabal fresh!
He brought red peppers, garlic, brown sugar and some flavoring.  How neat huh?  We were so pleased that he was comfortable to do that for us!  Oh it was a special evening, Intan their daughter did some translating back & forth, and Nick & I with our learning Indonesian words - well we were able to converse as much as we could!
We were blessed by their company!
A Film Clip of The House ~ Click on this Link!
So fun to now finally be able to upload the video clips we have been doing all this time!  So we will try to get caught up on this - and the next few days give you some clips to see and hear including the gecko & the rain coming down ....so hard!  But this one above gives you a better feel of the house and the property and the little street we live on!  (it takes a little time to  download  onto youTube but so worth the effort to share it with you!)  So' Enjoy!

I saw this schrub in the front of the house and it was all green and then I saw this little red thing hanging in it....hmmmm....and got a little closer & wonder what that is?
                                                                             A fruit?
                                                                            A Flower?
Yes quite hidden but I always enjoy new things! Actually Pak Jono gave us the name but...it did not 'compute' in the brain....ha!

Today, Monday - this afternoon at 1 pm, Nick & I are invited to come to Bethany Christian Elementary School to a classroom to speak & teach English - Aan (pronounced Ah...on) is a teacher there and had asked if we would come and share..."Oh of course we will Aan...we would love it!" So today is the Day...and we are excited!  Our friends Paulus & Indah have 2 children that attend there - so we hope to see Sanjaya and Fionna too!

Hope to add some pictures later on!

Nick is in the garage this morning starting to draw out the doll house on the plywood!  He did find an electric saw last week .....so he hopes to get started on it this week!  He enjoys that!  It is nice to see him busy!
