Our Bucket List ~ Asia Here we Come! : Sunday - Church and then out for Lunch with the Gang!

Sunday morning and off to church ~ Selamat Tahun Baru everybody! Happy New Year! Yes most people had returned from the travels - some headed home for the 2 weeks vacation - others went to Bali or Jakarta for a little outing! We enjoyed the service and the Word given!

As we headed out to our motorbike parking area on the church/school grounds-

we saw Corrin & 3 of her kids on the motorbike heading home (she use to live in Modesto/Ceres CA) ...yep that is how it is done around here. They have 5 kids total. Mike & Corrin teach in the International School. Pretty neat huh?

We had planned to meet up after church with Yohanes and his girlfriend, Jennifer who lives in Sumatra and was visiting Yohanes here in Salatiga! Yohanes too will be heading back to his work place in Sumatra soon. Jennifer (who had gone to Bali for a few days with friends) is from Brazil and she is a Veterinarian - pretty neat to hear her story! Yohanes is also involved with animals in his line of work.

We enjoyed lunch at the cute "paradise" restaurant Cafeole' again because it is such a cozy setting! Jessica who went with some buddies on the motorbikes to Yogjarkarta (a 4 hr drive over the mountain) & her sis, Joy joined us who had gone home to Kalimantan to visit with family, and Albert joined us too, who had taken a long train/bus ride to a beach area with Aan, to celebrate the new year with many people coming from everywhere to this particular beach!

So we had a lot of catching up to do with one another and it was so fun to hear about all the adventures that everyone had had over the 2 week Christmas break!

We got all caught up with one another - and just relaxed there under our special little hut!

Joy - Jessica's younger sister is studying to be a teacher and also plays the piano!

Look what a cute setting it is? Gosh - and the weather, although it wasn't a sunny day today, it was still very mild...you wake up and it is mild, and in the evening it is still mild....not much weather changes. The Indonesian's though find it cold right now...and they will wear a light jacket or long sleeves! I wore it because the air conditioner is usually on in church.

There we sit...waiting on lunch. We speak English with one another - but there is Portugese, Dutch and Javanese (dialect) & Indonesian languages going back and forth!
