We might not speak the language well....BUT - we have so connected in our hearts...and with lots of hugs & smiles and a whole lot of "words" here & there mixed - we have been able to communicate the best we know how! The Indonesian/English language book come in handy when we are together...but we have through all this a wonderful friendship! Intan their daughter speaks English - so when she is with us - visiting - well it helps!
So off we go out of the kampung to the restaurant - Bu Rini!
Pak Jono & Kasum on one bike....and Intan following behind on her bike...and down the pathways we go!
We had to stop for some 'bensin" gas ~
Lots going on - on a Saturday afternoon....
Everyone going somewhere.....
Here we are...Bu Rini - a really cute place to eat!
We parked the bikes.....
......and walk over to the Joglo outdoor open - eating areas.
Where do you want to sit "duduk" Pak Jono & Kasum?
We all wrote down our choices of dishes on a order form...and Pak Jono walked over to the counter to hand in the order ~
The dishes came - one by one...as they are prepared & ready - they are brought to us right away...so some might still be waiting for their orders
- and that is a bit different here then back home....BUT....we realize that every dish is made fresh...and so when it is prepared & ready...it is immediately brought to you!
Now that makes it really nice...fresh and served hot -
So Nick said a prayer and we began to enjoy our meal....
They had nasi putih - white rice with a meat dish...and we had our good ole gado gado and a chicken dish ~
While enjoying our meal...we have this beautiful view to look at...a lush green rice paddy with that mountain in the back ground...Mt Merbabu....pretty nice huh? We see people working it in the distance.
Oh what a nice dinner we had together! Kasum said "besok...kami datang anda di rumah dengen appel pie? Jam dalapan?" Tomorrow we come to your house with apple pie at 8 o'clock? Ya Kasum...baik! Yes Kasum good!
It was beginning to get a little dark...we had a really nice time with them! We hold them dear in our hearts!
