So anyway - we touched base with them when we got into Yogyakarta (we had exchanged email's!) and so the plan today is to have lunch with them! How fun! We met them at their hotel close to the train station -Hotel Instana Batik on the Jalan (street) Pasar Kembang and they were staying at a very cute place in the Indonesian style - a very cozy atmosphere! They had a cute place to take us and it was just down this alleyway - OK! Let's do it!
A Papa holding his 5 day baby - and so proud!
A Door Knocker - just had to take a picture of him!
Milah knew of this out doors restaurant and so we sat comfortable under a ceiling fan - and started with some ice coffee's!
Out on the street we heard some music playing out in the street - musicians preparing for a BIG parade on Wednesday.
Milah knowing "all the right dishes to order" studied the menu!
She is a cutie and of course speaks fluent Bahasa Indonesian!
Look Cecile - look familiar? Can you believe the colors?????
He turned around for me - !
Oh just beautiful - !
So here are some dishes she ordered because we all liked vegetables -
And yes there was an egg roll that was very much like a Lumpia!
Notice the Sabal on the plate? Yes the Hot Stuff just has to be included!
This one on the left is green onions with egg ~
Not a bad lunch huh? With sweet company...of course!
Eet Smakelijk! Salamet Makan!
We parted our ways but Milah invited us to join them with dinner - and meet her family who live here in Yogyakarta - say 6:30 pm?
How nice - we surely will enjoy you and thank you for the invitation Milah! See you both later!
We headed back to the hotel and saw some people in the pick-up truck dressed in the Indonesian clothing - maybe part of the parade? So colorful ~
The Ladies were chatting amongst themselves laughing and enjoying their ride!
Nick & I notice that the people are always laughing and relaxed and enjoying their time together whatever they might be doing at that moment! You really sense that comfortableness with one another - little chat's - always interacting with one another -
At 6:30 pm we went to Milah & Willy's hotel again and then on to the restaurant where Milah's sister Jean and brother in law would be and their 3 sons and daughter in laws and grandchildren!
Here is Jean with Milah older, sister and baby sister!
And one son Ferry with his wife and little girl just 1.6 months old - just like my Skyler!!!!
Everyone enjoyed a great meal and we filled up the whole place - didn't we?!!!
Eddy was the middle nephew with his wife and daughter.
Eko and his wife - who speaks German and teaches it to the children in school - and she spoke it very well! They had just come back from a holiday in Thailand - can you tell?
Such a nice family and Milah did some translating for us so we can communicate to her sister and family!
Milah and Willy - are heading to Bali this week and we wished a wonderful 2 more weeks in Indonesia! We agreed to be sure to look them up in Leiden (university town) Holland!
And Thank You Milah for sharing a lovely evening with us to meet your family - how very nice it was and the meal was delicious! We enjoyed our day with you! Be sure to thank your family once again for us!
And by the way - do drop in at the jeans store G-Star in Leiden and say "Hello" to my sweet Milou! She will enjoy that! OK?
