The Town Nick & Cecile, Robert & Peggy lived in when they were young!
This morning we awoke early to catch the van we had bought ticket's for to take us to Salatiga!
We actually thought it would be the red Toyota van for 10 passengers but when we got there they said we would be going into the silver van - Nick & I thought yikes - our suitcases and 5 passengers will never fit in there! So we made them aware of our two BIG MAMA'S and then the back packs too and they agreed - so they did switch us to the red Toyota bus! Very thankful! We left and they picked up 3 other passengers that were also going to Salatiga.Nick & I were comfortable and had a good seat - with a little more leg room.
The drive took 2.5 hrs from Yogyakarta to Salatiga - it was a long mountainous trip with lots of turns and twists and bumpy roads - we were rocking in our seats most of the time! Sometimes it would rock you to sleep - and our 3 other passengers certainly did sleep - soundly it seemed...ha!
They too were rockin' and swaying.... but were probably use to it!
Saw some nice scenes on the way...we went through many little villages - all along the passes.
Schools out!
Parents coming to pick up their kids ~
Salatiga - we have arrived!
Our room would be ready in a few hours - so we strolled a little bit to stretch our legs!
We had a bite to eat in the dining room and met a mother & daughter who had a guest from Korea with them...they were from a local church and the girl's name was Ester! How special - and we connected right away! We were invited to join them on Sunday ~
