Tlogo Plantation Resort

Rubber & Coffee Plantation

Monday ~ we checked out of the hotel - it was booked full because there is a holiday in Indonesia ... a 4 day weekend.  Nick searched on the net and found something outside of town - a plantation?  Well - we have heard about these plantations that people can stay in - so maybe now is the time to try it - with everything booked in town?

There was availability and so we booked it and called to see if they could come and pick us up at our hotel?  Yes they would do so!  It was a 35 min drive outside of Salatiga...and we went through many villages to get here.  Wouldn't know our way back - because it is all jungle here...but of course inhabited!

We entered into this beautiful old Dutch coffee & rubber plantation that is being run by local owners - Java Coffee Tlogo is the actual existing plantation.  They turned the old Dutch buildings into a dining hall, and added cute pathway's to darling little cottages.  There is a larger building that had smaller rooms - connected - which was actually the room we had booked online- but it turned out to be a very small room with twin beds - we asked to see the next upgrade and they showed us this.......

.....a gorgeous setting huh?  Can you believe how cute this is?

We booked it for two day, it is darling and quiet and VERY relaxing!  They have a pool, billiard, and beautiful grounds.  We will enjoy this and go back to Salatiga in a few days.

When we went to church on Sunday we heard that a family had moved out of a home and that we might be able to rent it for the balance of the yearly lease...gosh that would be great!  We will know more in a few days!

Tomorrow a young lady is picking us up to bring us to their church in the next town Bawen...we met them in the previous hotel and she wanted to have us come and meet the youth of her church - so Nick & I will be picked up at 9:30 am in the morning to spend a few hours there.

Everyday is a new day! Wish I could download the pictures I took of this beautiful place - BUT - here in the room (as cute as it is here) wifi is NOT Good!  So will have to wait till I get closer to the lobby & office.

But at least you all know where we are!  In the jungles of Central Java!
I am in the office now trying to down load the pictures but it is as slow as molasses here as well!
But at least here are a few pictures of the cottage to share with you!

The bathroom area is walled but outside - it is open to the outside - almost like taking a shower in the garden!
Well one shower is actually in the garden area - but tap (lukewarm)  water....
...and then this shower is with warm water!
This is the story of the Tlogo Plantation Resort - you can click on the picture and read it!
Little gecko's walk around on the wall - eating the little buggies - but this is good - they eat the bugs and then we do not get bother!  The little gecko's love mosquito's too - and that is very good!  The bed has  netting above our bed - how tropical is that! But our first night was good.......Nothing bugging us!

Cute huh?  Yes - very!
Nico says this is the "life" ...OK Nico - 2 days - ha!

The walkway to the other cottages -
Lined with beautiful trees I don't even recognize!

We have these plants at home growing in small pots...but here.....!!!!!!!!
So many types of plants, shrubs, just amazing - do you see the bamboo tree?
Just a few coffee plants/trees...these are old ones from past years.
What beautiful color...we just look and look and see so much all around us!
Back towards the office area...
This is where they serve us breakfast and we have our dinner!
This is the old house that the plantation owner and staff lived.
The stairs were certainly original - dark teak wood - so strong and beefy!

The front porch - I can just imagine the families staying cool outside on the porch.
Pictures of the past - owners and staff~ always love to see the old pictures from the past!

A banana tree.
See the banana's growing - this city girl is seeing so many interesting things!
                                                              Mar do you see it?
These plants at home grow in little pots in the house - here they hang out of trees and the vines and the leaves are king-size!
We ended our first day with a lovely dinner - cute how they brought the nasi!
