Wrappng Things Up in Bangkok~

Yes our Last Day here in Bangkok -

We have enjoyed "busy" Bangkok!  Seeing more sights and walking many miles all the time!  And enjoying our hotel to relax and cool down too...ha! Here are some recent pictures taken:

We enjoyed a weekend Market (bazaar) that seems to have been one of the biggest ever we have seen...even much bigger then the flea market in San Jose CA...which we thought was big.  We heard about it and was told it was one of the places to go see.

Nick & I decided to go early - so so we wouldn't be so much in the crowds...well not for long!  We strolled through alley's and alley's and walkways into a maze of market stands -row after row! All kinds of  goods: food, veggies, shoes, clothings, statue's, you name it they had it!
Actually it was a bit overwhelming (yes even for Ellen!) so much stuff....corridors & alley's just continued!  We did find a cute Bus T-shirt and Nick needed a wallet.

This gentleman was playing banjo and singing an American song...so cute!

... a cute "Thai" cowboy singing       "Rhinestone Cowboy" with an accent!   Chandelier's anyone?

So much work for the merchants to put up and take down for just those 2 days!

And this character wanted your money right in his mouth!!! Do you dare????????

Lots of snacks and goodies being sold!  This looks familiar huh?

We strolled and strolled through the alley's until we just couldn't anymore!  It was HOT and humid and more and more people arrived....and it got more and more crowded all the time!

At noon time we decided we had seen it...and as we went back towards the Skytrain...loads of people came through! Four rows wide of people arriving on the walkway and only 1 line heading back to the Skytrain... Nick & I were glad to have had a early head start!

We had been told that this is where the tourist's pick up gifts for their return home.

But we still have a year to go so no big items for us - we still have a ways to go!

Oh yes ~ out of our room at the hotel ..is a Catholic school and the kids attend school from 7:30 am - to 6:30 pm!!!! Monday thru Friday all day and then on Saturday they go till about 2:00 pm. LONG DAYS huh? The girls have their hair in pig-tails and even still have a ribbon in each tail...just like the olden days! Blue skirts and white blouses.  Can't believe how long they stay in school here in Asia...they work really hard!
