We woke up...oh my Nico what a view....are we really here in this beautiful place on Lombok? Just look at it outside?
What beauty around us right outside our room...look at the gardens - So lush!
I sat out on the deck just admiring our surroundings!
We were getting hungry and so off we went to the open Pavilion and they had a very elaborate breakfast buffet.
We sat there by the pool and up walks what looks like a pheasant....WHAT? What is this? Just walking around the dining huh???? Then another one shows up? We heard they were called Singapore Chickens....never heard of that before...but they were cute & clean and they surely walked around as if they lived here....at was the most normal thing to do! ha! New-comers also looked - and chuckled!
We experienced a new thing again....yep a Singapore Chicken!
Here come the white one...together they were just strolling along and made a sound "a-cooing" sound....very different!
We enjoyed a good breakfast to get us going...yes lots of tropical fruit and Nick loves his Nasi Goreng in the morning (fried rice) and me...well a piece of toast and two eggs over easy!
We decided to go discover the town - Senggigi Beach is not big but it seems to be one of the special places to visit. We strolled along the main street and then saw a "sepeda motor" rental - Yes! Why not? We would be able to enjoy the island so much better on the bike....and this place was not as busy as where we came from Sunar....there was a lot going on there!
So that is exactly what we did - rented a motorbike and within minutes we were off again going along the coast line...enjoying the gorgeous sights and beautiful views down below!
We enjoyed driving along the road - and stopped every once in a while to look below~
The weather was so nice and warm - so we decided to go back to the room - pick up our swim suits and then head further along the beach the other direction.....
Glad we had our suits...that way if we wanted to stop somewhere we we were prepared!
We saw some gorgeous sights along the way...and so many beaches with not a soul on it!
Nick turned off a dirt road - he saw this sign - there was a Lot for sale and he was curious about it....hmmmmm....let's go see what this Lot looks like?
When we got down to the beach we saw the Lots... 3 side by side...and I saw the beach - all quiet and not a person around!
Oh my....take of the shorts and get into that water - it is calling you Ellen! The water was WONDERFUL...warm and just perfect to swim in...a little under tow...but not enough to worry about...and once you were out there you didn't feel the tow anymore! Oh my it was delicious and to think it was March...and I am swimming! Yes on the Equator in Lombok! Gosh it was so hot that I could not walk on the sand on my bare feet...can you imagine that in March? Oh ah...oh ah...get into the water....!!!!! ouch!!! Ah................................................................so' very nice!!!!
It was wonderful & and where was Nick???? Well he was looking over the Lots for sale...and found a house up along the beach a little further down and started in that direction! Someone must of heard or seen us - and came over to Nick. In the meantime I am enjoying a nice swim in the Indian Ocean/Bali Sea....which is much more fun to do!
I am pointing to the Lot.... just right there by the beach...can you believe it - a Lot for sale right on the beach? Beachfront property? Nick was already "dreaming" Yes his brain was in gear alright!
....right there....off this beach!!!
Just to the left where the motorbike is parked.
Nice and leveled...and we found out it was owned by a Dutch person and he had already sold 2 of them and the last Lot was still available.
Nick's brain was thinking how he could do this....well it is nice to dream...but Lombok is kind of out there right Nico? You gotta take the boat from Bali to here....and well ....kind of away from things .....right Nico?
We must say it was a really good buy...and unbelievable to live so close to the beach and be able to see that gorgeous aqua blue water right outside your door? It does make you think about it!!!!! Even for just a little while...ha! Even this "retired" real estate agent was thinking...hmmmmmm!!!!!
We got back on the bike and went further up the road and then stopped up on the ridge to look down on the beach we had just come from...WOW what a sight to behold! P r e t t y !
Somebody had started to build this house on this outlook point...and then for some reason stopped! We walked to property overlooking this gorgeous point...up here and thought - my someone else had a idea to build here and walk up in the mornings with quite a view!!!
As Peter Sellers would say....
"Room with a View!"
Well the dream is maybe still in the making here...but it really looked liked it was at a stand-still in this particular project.
We continued to ride along the coast line...in and out of villages along the way until we came to a place to have a bit to eat which had this beautiful gift shop too! Hmmm...a good place to stop and nose around. We wanted to bring some gifts back to our friends in Salatiga - so this might be a good place to look.
It was hot out there 95+ I would imagine...and so it was wonderful to feel the warm breeze on the bike again...and we headed back to the hotel and relaxed until dinner time! Awe such a nice afternoon it was! Wow...loved the swim - out on the ocean...all to myself...how often does that happen huh?
We went back to the hotel until evening time and then strolled along the beach and came right back to the same place we had been the evening before! It was a perfect evening again...and we relaxed and had an appetizer and just enjoyed sitting & enjoying the live music!
We enjoyed sitting at this place...loved the breeze and the music was great! This guy came up and sat down next to us at the other table and Nick said hello! and chatted ...his name was "Robert" and he was from Amsterdam...enjoying a 6 week vacation in Indonesia for the first time!
Robert got up and went over to the stage and asked if he could play along with them...and he was invited to sing along and share some of his own songs he knew! He was quite good and we enjoyed the songs he sang..What fun!
At another table there was a gal also sitting alone...and so I went over to say Hello! to her....would you believe it her name was "Elen" with one "L" from Scotland!
Of course we had to take a picture together...Elen and Ellen...Wow was that ever neat or what??!!!! How often do I meet another Ellen in life? I only know a few! Elen came to this area 12 yrs ago and fell in love with it...and now has lived on Gili Trawagan island (first island we stopped at to let people off/on the boat) for the last 5 yrs and loves it! She has a homestay little business there and so' much enjoys the people and the weather and life here on the islands! Wow what a story! She's a cutie and had such a personality!
We invited Robert too to join us and we enjoyed chatting with one another on this lovely evening in Senggigi Beach in Lombok!
Nick & I just love to hear the stories and there are so many people that enjoy traveling and are seeing new sights & it is great to hear where they have been and where they are going etc! Great stories and adventures!
Another lovely day in paradise...time to head back to the room!
