From Day to Day ......

When Nick & I came to Salatiga and lived here 2 months and then decided to stay longer - we purchase 2 motorbikes.  We were recommended by friends to go to Istana Motors and there we met David & Swanny the owners!  Nick brought Ryan there and introduced him to David & Swanny and Ryan was able to find a really nice bike too!

   WAY TO RYAN!!!!

We were pleased that Ryan was happy with it!  David & Swanny is a good connection in town!

Our friend Endah has 3 children and Diva has a handicap.  We thought of our friends back home Alan & Vonna and their granddaughter Mikayla ~  Alan had built her a "skateboard" to get

around the house on ...and so Nick decided to do the same for Diva!

Here is Diva - sitting on her new skateboard...Endah says she is getting use to it...oh we hope it will help her to get around in the house!  We remember it was a great blessing for Mikayla!  And it gave her a lot of freedom at home! What a cute girl she is...always has lots of smiles!! "You are a pretty girl Diva!"
"have fun with the skateboard!"

A few days ago we went off again on our motorbikes...Oh how I love to do that!  The weather was really nice - and we had an open day...so off we went towards Kopeng which is a climb up into the mountains...and then it got cloudy so we turned towards Solo through these cute small villages and neighborhoods...Wow so much fun!
I was glad to get back on the bike after several weeks...I want continue to feel confident on it you know!    We stopped for a bite to eat at one of our favorite places, Lotus Restaurant - and enjoyed seeing the staff there again..."Wisnu" came and joined us and we chatted for a nice while.  He asked if he could brush up on his English..."yes of course Wisnu... do come and join us!"

Last Sunday we were invited to join Babis & Kristiani and their family for lunch after church!  Kees & his wife Rini and daughter Tamara were also invited.  We had a wonderful Greek meal that was prepared by Kristiani!  Lots of good food and fellowship!  Babis, a Grecian, worked on the Grecian Cruise Lines for many years and that is where he met Kristiani in Semarang working at a tourist shop close to the harbor....and the rest "as they say" .....is History!

Kees travels all over the world (he is a Dutchie!) and Kees met his wife Rini here in Salatiga.  We had an enjoyable afternoon!

We met Babis at the local grocery store and Babis invited us to meet his family...they have two children Anastasios "Tas"  & Angeliki "Angel". Beautiful kids...!

Today is Deborah's Birthday!  Happy Birthday Deborah!  Selamat Ulang Tahun!
We found a bakery in town and they had a chocolate cake that Deborah had her eye on...!

"Happy Birthday to Deborah...Happy Birthday to YOU!"

Deborah & Gordon have been here 7 weeks from Kentucky!  They are in the language school now and then will be off to Papua.  Andy, Janelle and little Marcus came to celebrate too!
Hey there's Ryan...nice to see you again Ryan!  "I like your Indonesian shirt!  Looking good!"  We had a nice visit -  Thanks for the invite you guys!
