Day 9 ~ From Ubud to Nusa Dua (a peninsula close by Denpasar)

We got going in the morning and the shuttle bus was there at our homestay right on time.  We told the driver our ticket was to  Sanur but really needed to go to Nusa Dua...and he said no problem - I can bring you there as well!  Excellent!  There were others in the van as well and heading to Denpasar - Kuta - the town that most everyone goes too...yet we had heard that it was such a busy place and for the young crowds looking for a place to "party" so we decided again Kuta, but rather Nusa Dua, which was supposedly also along a beach and still close enough to the airport (20-25 min only) ....so that is how we came to decide on Nusa Dua.  The driver brought us into this area and we saw lots of fancy hotel...way to fancy for us!  Oh my Nico...the driver dropped us off on a beach outside of this one hotel...and we walked to the front desk to inquire.  The front desk clerk said min $150,- a night...oh oh...way to much for us!  He said there was an Ibis Hotel close by down the road a ways...Oh good!  We got into a taxi and headed there!

The taxi waited with me in the car while Nico went into the lobby to inquire...if there was room?  Yes they said...3 nights?  Yes again!  and price...reasonable!  My we were so pleased and very thankful!!! Such favor!  Thank you Lord for Your continued care & keeping over us...all the time!!!

We were brought to our room...it was a Junior Suite - they called it...with a balcony & a side view of the beach!  Great - how nice our room was and with a balcony too!  Now I felt like I was in Hawaii...no Ellen....Bali!
 The view was beautiful...

We were up on the 6th floor...nice!

A very nice room....hey look the counter is in the shape of a surf board...cute!

Here is the junior suite - great for families and then another flat screen TV in this area too!  FANCY!!!!  A little fridge and a hot water kettle...Nice!
The pool area was really pretty too...

We relaxed for a while and then went out to
rent a sepeda motor for a day...so that we could
look around this peninsula and get familiar with the area!
There was this brand spanking new hotel built - Nick said an Arabia name - there was definitely a lot of money there...and we saw gated communities in the area past the Ibis...a section that was completely shut off from the public...hmmm...who would live there we thought???....Wow Nick we got into a very expensive part of Bali...I guess we didn't know!
We drove around for a while and just enjoyed the views of the ocean!

This man had a table on his motorbike...gosh what good balance he must have to steady that bike! This
Evening came and we took a picture from the balcony of this cruise ship docked out in the ocean - can you see it in the distance?  A pretty sight!  Nick & I found a nice warung to have a light meal and we enjoyed a Nasi Ramus...with my favorite Rendang...(shredded beef with a very spicy sauce)

We then decided we want to take some pictures with the Sunset...and so we found a lounge chair on the beach....it was a gorgeous beach you could walk along on a nice walkway...and the hotels took beautiful care of the beaches too!
We took a stroll along the beach in the evening and this beach area here in Nusa Dua was just a gorgeous setting!  Lovely!

The Sky had so many colors in it...and
 kept changing...from minute to minute!
We just continued to take pictures...one after the other...
It was low tide and the lights shined so pretty on the beach.

There in the distance was a little bay with a covered sitting area...such a pretty sight!
The colors kept changing as the Sun dropped....it was so much prettier then even these pictures...we continued to enjoy this scene until the stars came out!

Yes Bali certainly is a pretty place to come to...the people are friendly and kind...and many many foreigners from all over the world..but then these sights would calls many to this part of Indonesia!  And to think there are still hundreds of other islands to discover...
....But we feel blessed to have experienced this together...we have had a wonderful time here..."on holiday" as people say in these parts!

Well time to head back to the room!  Tomorrow another adventure...we are now in a count down...just 2 more days left..and then home it is!
