Sharing some pictures with you as we took a walk ~ we viewed this Buddhist Temple grounds ~
Some of the building were being renovated...but look at the the wood being used as a scaffold up there...scary!
The guy has 4 arms......see below? ...... NOT GOOD!
Here are the local people doing their evening exercises!
Another rally going on either very early in the morning before work or evening when people are out and about!
This little boy had fallen asleep as Dad was listening to what was being said!
He was sound asleep!
We have been enjoying a new kind of mexican train...a shorter version and also really fun!
I think you will like it too!
Yes after a good day's work fun to have some relaxation and sweet fellowship together!
Why am I showing you "a" washing machine??????
Jerry & Wilma bought from China in bulk/bale - Clothes for the Sunbeam orphanage. So to get it ready it has to be washed, sorting out and hung up to dry...
The weather being very humid here..
(yesterday 92 % humidity!!!!!!)....high huh?...can you imagine that?????{Yes....we are very sticky!!!!}.it takes the Sun out to dry the clothing...and with so much moisture in the air it can take a day or so without the sun out to dry. And then you hope the rain doesn't come because then we all race out to bring the rakes undercover!
So it is important to wash in the morning and hang it out to dry. Yet even when it is "dry" it still has a kind of damp feel to it.
Jerry & Wilma are also growing zucchini plants to help to feed the children. Jerry hopes to get a vegetable garden going because there are 29 mouths + 4 on staff to feed so Jerry hopes the garden will help of course with the monthly food bill.
They are always trying to be so' wise & discerning regarding the donations sent for the ministry! They are so devoted those two!!! And there are so' many things to think about! It is all adds up!
And this is what we have been doing as well for mostly the last 3 days:
When the Pastors go out to the villages weekly...they share stories about Jesus to the children. As the stories are being told the children receive coloring crayons and a picture of what is being taught.
Here is the sheet passed out to the children to color...it is a story - and while they are coloring - the story is shared from the Bible!
Can you see what the story is about?
This packaging happens once a month here at the center. Jerry & Wilma order the printing to be done. and then begins the job of sorting everything and preparing the packaging for the pastors.
Next week when the Pastor's meeting takes place...everything will be distributed to them - everything ready to go for them to start their following upcoming month as they make their weekly rounds. This one particular pastor might have 120 children and of course the adults too come to listen. So Jerry & Wilma will print for 4 weeks - and this happens every month....all over again!
When a pastor goes out into the villages to share "the Good News" ... many children come to hear the stories being told.
Of course they also share with the adults while they are there.
As you can see 45,000 of them! Can you believe that? Reaching out to so many children in these remote villages?
Yes Nick & I stand amazed at the work these two have done in these 12 years! And we haven't even yet seen the orphanage, and gone to the monthly pastoral meetings!
Today I went to the "market" with Jerry to shop for dinner! What an amazing sight to behold!!!! Yes...meat cut up right there on the tables....life fish, turtles, eel swimming around in containers....skinned ducks, chicken, beef, all available to buy - no refrigeration - it was so foreign to me...a westerner...and yet everyone was there...shopping & looking and buying!
Oh Yes a Pig head...yes a real pig head - several of them...just sitting there looking at you!!!!!
Jerry was talking with the ladies...talking prices and dealing with it all like it was the most normal thing!
Gosh me and my Safeway store!
I tell you people back home ~ You are spoiled !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
