Enjoying our days here in Bophut Samui Island Thailand ~

One of our "Bucket List" ....we can check off....

It was a exciting day...woke up early to get breakfast and then we would be picked up at the hotel for the zip-line event! We climbed into a Toyota pick-up truck and off we went to the area somewhere up in a higher area of the island.  Another couple had already been picked up - cute young couple from Barcelona - Spain...newly weds! Then we headed to the town we had visited yesterday, Chaneng to pick up ...4 gal's from Australia.

We all got to talking and they heard about our plans and thought we were pretty cool - one gal said "no way my parents would not do that!" They laughed - enjoyed hearing about our plans and couldn't believed we had sold all to do this!

They were so cute and what fun...4 girlfriend's traveling together!

We came to the area and the driver said to step out - go see the waterfall...which we all did and then all at once - there were elephants! Yes elephants with people on them...and they were drinking...people laughing - and the elephant guides were speaking commands to the elephants - very fun to see! I climbed over rocks to get as close as I could to take some pictures!

We traveled again to the next stop..but saw this and wanted to share it with you...see that elevated building...well the people go up the steps and get on the elephant's back
(double click on the picture for a better look)

We then came to the zip-line area and got out of the truck and we were there...!!!!
Time to get harnessed in...Nick is ready to go! Go Nick!
Once everyone was ready to go..we were shown how to do it...we received gloves too...and were instructed to keep our feet up!  At each platform this guy was there to help you unhook again and then  re-hook you unto another zip-line...COOL!  I let go so I spun around...that was fun!  You can also be hooked "upside down"...which the guy from Spain tried...I want to do that too?!!!!!!

Regretfully we did not hand over our camera...didn't know our guide was taking pictures for everyone..with their own camera's! I thought the guide was taking pictures and then would give or sell them to us later...wrong!  It was great fun and we all thought it was worth it
!
Huh Nick...really cool ??!!!! Yeah!
It was refreshing to cool down ahhhhh refreshing...  water coming down from the waterfall ....so' good after swinging like Tarzan & Jane! ha!

We headed back to our hotels and stopped to buy some fresh fruit at the marketplace ~
This open Toyota was fun to ride in but we shook like crazy...it felt like the shock absorber's were shoot,,,Nick said!

Yesterday we actually rented another scooter and enjoyed traveling to the maintown on the island Chaneng...it was a very cute little white Honda! Nick said it drives really nice....can't wait to run around with one myself in Indonesia!   I will be patient and wait...ha!

We ran some needed errands and experienced some "new" things in the store...roasted ducks!
Saw this fruit we were not familiar with...what is that?????

When we got back to the hotel ...we were really hot! So I grabbed the swim suit and did a wonderful swim in the bay and Nick relaxed on a lounge and watched & napped a  bit! All at once...it started to rain again...there I was in the ocean...with rain pouring down hard...and guess what? The water was warmer then all the rain on my head!
So I stayed in the water...so refreshing!

What a beautiful sight as the Sun went down~

We so' enjoy our cute little hotel/bungelow...so cozy and it has such a sweet atmosphere!

The lights in the trees makes this such a darling place to be! We were thankful to find this on agoda.com...very handy website! And the tripadvisor.com also gives you reviews from other travelers that have experienced their stay and want to share it! Thanks again Jas!  How handy huh?

  1. Got caught up on all your posts! Very exciting stuff! It took quite an effort to get where you are now at...but wow it was all worth it, huh?
Standing by you and Nico in prayer to stay safe, sound and healthy! What fun to experience all this! The fruits must be so plentiful and wonderful! The rambutan looked so familiar that I almost could taste it! Also the Dorian melon types, the scent is not so pleasant, but the melon is so very sweet! The snaps of nature you took are utterly magnificent. Life certainly is an adventure! Till next time,
    Indomeisje.
