Koh Phangan island - Thailand

Yesterday - our first full day here ~ 

We woke up refreshed and seem to be getting really lazy here...MY! Almost feel guilty being so relaxed! ha!  Nick & I walked this beautiful private beach of our hotel ~ 

We had emailed our 'new friends'  Irwin & Maggie Armstrong and she graciously replied...and so we decided to meet up with them at their hotel!  Irwin was hoping to get a practice lesson in with kite-surfing but when we got there the wind was still - so we ended up having a very sweet time with them - sitting - relaxing - chatting and getting to know one another!

 What fun to make new friends ~ they were lots of fun to get to know and such interesting lives they lead!  Irwin is a photographer - film person and works with journalists & news media all over the world - traveling to interesting lands!  Maggie is also into media - assisting and counseling people who will be interviewed on television or audio production - connecting them with interviewers but helping them first to be able to present their topic well whatever their burden, issue topic might be.  

They are a great team together, and have actually started their own business -!  Irwin & Maggie are from the area of Belfast Ireland...and speak with the cutest accent!  They are traveling in Thailand for 3 weeks!

We hope to meet again with them...we have both extended our stay on this island! What a treat to make their acquaintance!

We headed back to our hotel around 5:30 pm and had a bite to eat (yum...two dishes of sauteed veggies, fried rice and a egg roll...very good indeed!  Then took a good healthy stride on the beach...such a lovely sight don't you think? 

 We walked along and saw all these lights further up ahead and went there to check it out....hm...what is all that about?

There was nice music and lots of people having a enjoying their evening - eating and having a drink ~ kind of hard to see the all people in these pictures!

 It was very busy and inviting!

We headed back to the hotel...

 ...and saw the lights of our own hotel too...so pretty from a distance! The water is warm even in the evening..and the sandy beaches especially soft...yes the sand is a fine white sand and very easy to walk on.  A different kind of sand again from Koh Samui island!

Well I guess it is time to end the day huh Nick?

 This morning we woke up to a lovely morning and strolled again on the beach!  Gosh - pinch me...would you?????  Is this "FOR REAL?????" 

We had a nice breakfast again at the hotel and sat down next to some Dutchies - a family of 5 here from Holland!  So cute to hear the children speak our native language!  

We are "seriously" considering what to do today...ha!  Here in the hotel - Nick is lying on the bed - reading some booklet about the island and I am on this blog sight sharing with you all...

"so what is on the agenda Nico for today?????? Nico...are you awake? Are you here? Are you planning something? It is already 1:20 pm - yahooo  N I C O ?"

We heard from Wilma this morning by email ..."where are you and when are we finally going to see you guys????????"
