Hangin' Out - our Last Day in Jerusalem

Today our last day in Jerusalem was a relaxed day!  We went to look for the Bus station...that we could use to get to Tel Aviv tomorrow...and then we heard about a kind of shuttle bus that was also a possibility..hmm??  Maybe that is also possible!  But while we were in a bus driving through town...Nick saw two rental cars; Thrify & Hertz - and thought that too might be an option!  We shall search that out!  Reason why?  Well we leave tomorrow to drive Tel Aviv - we have 2 suitcases & 2 backpacks to carry.  We will spend 2 days in Tel Aviv and then on Friday morning early...4:30 am we have to drive to the airport to take a early flight to Greece!  This way we have the car rental...and instead of finding a taxi so early in the morning...the rental would again work out just great!  Sounds like a plan!  We can certainly inquire in the morning Nico?!

So heading into town - the downtown area of Jerusalem was nice too!  We went to a popular market place called "Makhane Yehuda" was a really fun place to be!  We walked through cute streets where there was so much activity:

People buying their daily groceries...and everything was so fresh!  Veggies & nuts & fish & dips & spices...oh I wanted to go shopping and go home and make a meal of it!

Dried fruits...
Fresh spices & herbs!

We saw 2 ladies eating some really nice looking fish & chips..and I looked all around where they might of gotten that????

The one lady pointed to the stand ..."over there" she said!  "Oh thank you!!!!"  She was about my age....and gave me a big smile!  So we ordered the same and shared one together!    This other guy was also eating this and said "see that fish store over there?  This guys father owns the fish store and this fish is just 'dead' - this is really fresh and really good" - he said!
OK OK! We are convinced...and it surely was so!  Dangerously good...with lots of spices on the fish!

This little guys was so cute...at least 2 years old like my little Skyler in Holland!  Just had to take a picture of him!  All those curls..reminded me of my Jas!

We continued to walk toward the Old City when we came across the center of town...with lots of shopping stores.

People were strolling, families, sitting on cute outdoor tables & chairs - very cozy and lively!

It was a pretty area with lots of little shops - I think mostly for the tourists. Only the train/tram could ride through this area.

Hey there is Nico...riding a bike with a clock attached to it??? Say what Nico??????

The Tram was not running...there was a disturbance of some sort in a particular area of Jerusalem...and so the police had shut down this tram system.  This has to do with the 3 teens that had been killed by Gaza area.  So very sad...life is so precious...our hearts grief for the loss for the families - how devastating!

We ended up having to walk quite a ways to find the bus that would take us back to our area Pisgat Ze'ev - and finally we found it!  Yeah!!!  We waited for a while and then we headed back to our B&B to settle for the evening - do a little repacking of the suitcase.

We have so enjoyed Jerusalem - and have seen many special sights...yet have not seen all the sights...but our hearts are full of thanksgiving for what we have seen & we will relish it!  The City of David...Wow - amazing that we have been here!  God has blessed us with the opportunity to come here...and we have tasted and see that it is good!
