Slazburg.....So Sweet! The SOUND of Music in the Air!!!

The afternoon of arrival & getting situated in our hotel we headed to town with the bus.  We just followed "the crowd" and they headed to the main street & where Mozart lived his first 17 years of his life.  There it is in the distance - the yellow house!

The street was so cute with lots of shops & places to eat...of course!

We saw some neat buildings in the distance!

We enjoyed seeing the sights left and right and just realizing that the Sound of Music was made here made it ever so special!!!

Yes Polly...it was adorable...looking here and there and everywhere trying to recognize familiar sights from the movie!

When the bell from the church tower rings...I almost expected ......

...."Maria" to be running back to the Abby so she wouldn't be late! Every time I think of it!  How funny is that!!!!!!

There in the distance we saw a castle way up on this steep mountain right above the town!  What an impression it gave!

Oh Nick we have got to go up there!!!!

Let's do it tomorrow OK?????

Just LOOK... how cool that is!!!!!!!

The Salzazh River runs through Salzburg...oh such a beautiful sight!!  Salzach River

There was this neat walking bridge and it had hundred & hundreds of locks on it!  I think people go buy a lock & put their name on it and take the key - hoping to be back some day!                "Must be a new "thing!"

Nick getting the key ~at our hotel closer into town.

We had the least expensive room we think - it was up in the attic area on the 5th floor...but adorable ~  looking way down to the street!

We strolled through town...and I love those flowers hanging out on the balcony's!  Charming!

A Large Barometer - so' ornate!

Oh look here...DHL...Catherina & Valim - the company you both work for!  Nick remembered!!

We have also seen that UPS is here too!

Wow so many beautiful sights along the way...each time we turned a corner!  Both Nick & I agree that we like Salzburg so much better then Vienna...because of the smallness we think.  The population of Vienna is 2.7 million and Salzburg 159,000.  So of course it is a cozy town and much more intimate.  Small towns give that cozy feel anyway!
We are just small town people!
