Visitng Family in Heemstede ~ Then a Drive Along the Coast ~

Seeing my cousin was great and his wife Ingrid!  We visited for a little bit and then went to the nursing home to see my Aunt Evie - who is 93 years old!  I was thankful to see her - she too has Alzheimer's - tough.  She did recognize my father/her brother in a picture and when we said something she said "van jou" yours!  Precious ~

We took "Million" for a walk afterwards in the park...he was patiently waiting in the car while we visited!

We returned to the house and Ingrid had prepared a lovely lunch for us!  We sat down to delicious soup and sandwiches - very nice!

We had a special time of sharing with them...and they have traveled a lot!  Ingrid does tours for executives: meetings events and music tours too!  She keeps busy after her retirement!  They hope to come visit in the States sometime....YES please do!!!!

Edward came to visit us in the US when we were young...he was 18  - if I recall - I was 14 years at that time!  His Mom Aunt Evie came several times to visit us!

We said our "good- byes" but they plan to come to The Hague in September - great!  Look forward to that!  Thank you Ingrid & Edward for a nice morning & early afternoon!

We decided to head back to The Hague by way of the coast which was so great!  The weather was especially nice today...oh so much better then the previous 2 weeks!  Wonderfully warm!

We decided to go see Noordwijk the beach close by...and it was BUSY!!!
Noordwijk On The Sea

Heading towards the sea...we saw rows of flowers & this area especially is well known for the flowers Lisse, Keukenhof, Keukenhof ~ tulips!

Now that gets this "Dutch-Indo" girl excited!

We came to the beach area and it was gorgeous - everyone that wanted to grab a little Sunshine was out!

"collect them in the ashtray" "don't leave your butt alone"
"on this beach a clean-up rule applies from
Sept 1st to June 1st"
Hotels lined up along the coastline ~

The dunes are filled up & built up with sand  to protect the roads that are "below sea level"

We walked down to the beach area -
The beaches are so clean...the sand so soft to walk on -

"Can you believe how nice this is??  LOOK THERE!"

We took a really nice long stroll and then decided to join the crowd and sit for a while!  In the Spring time when the Summer season approaches build these beach houses.  They are complete packages with walls and bathrooms too!  It is a pleasure to sit at these places...all nicely laid out with lounge chairs and private areas if you want it~ You can order most anything - and in the evening they open for dance & music too!
Most people enjoy coming as soon as the weather warms up!  The Dutch people love their sunlight!

After a good walk and a snack - we headed back to the car and continued on our drive.  Just beautiful scenery...Holland is so pretty!  And every street everywhere there are large & wide bike lanes...all paved perfectly!  Bikes, motorbikes (50 kph only) and ladies pushing their children in the wooden carts on bike - just adorable!

We had a wonderful drive...and ended up back at the apartment by way of little roads and darling avenues with beautiful trees and brick homes too!
