Bikes Anyone???

In this house was also parked two bikes...and what a pleasure it is to ride them!

Everything is done here in Holland in town by bike...and it certainly is a smart way to get around!  No parking problems!  AND everything is close by!

We want to share with you all out there - how the Dutch park their bikes when traveling with the Train! Do you think you will find a place to park your bike in this?

Do you notice the top rack?  Well you pull on this handle and it comes down - and then you roll up your bike on the bar and lift it up to the top level...there is a hydraulic lift on it...so easily done!  No wonder...so many bikes are on the top level ~

 The REAL question is??????

Will you find your bike back when you return to this place????????

Boy oh Boy - you better have remembered where you parked it and in what row and what color, what style....what??????????

If you bike is not in a rake...but pushed in between...the sign states it can be removed...and taken away....and that would be no fun at all!  But nevertheless people did take chances and squashed their bikes in between others...just to find a spot!  Many people commute to other areas to work....so all the bike rakes are jammed full at the train stations!

We met a couple at the American Protestant Church of The Hague and he recognized Nick to be "Indo!"  Rein Carlier and his wife Kathy!

So Rein invited us to meet for a cup of coffee!
We met one another at the Train Station and then he took us to "his favorite place" in town!

We enjoyed hearing his story about Indonesia and how he and his family too lived there..during the war.  Rein is 2 yrs younger then Nick and also had many things to share!
Rein & Kathy served in Taiwan for 15 years and was a member of TEAM - he knows people we have met in Salatiga Walter & David Kennedy who are in Papua!  Ryan Kennedy are you reading this?  Let your parents know that we have met Rein Carlier here in The Hague!!!

Small World!
