Today Nick & I traveled to Zeist to visit family on Nick's mother side....his mothers name was Flament and Norma's mother and Nick's mother were sisters! Wow - that was pretty special for Nick...first connection in Holland with his mother's side of the family!
Jan & Norma live in a beautiful apartment and their daughter Sandra came over to meet us as well!
Jan is a retired officer from the Royal Dutch Air Force.
We so enjoyed a great visit with them and will continue to stay connected!
We enjoyed the picture of Indonesia reminding us of our special year and adventure there! It was wonderful to share with them our heritage and time spent in Indonesia....everyone of us have dear memories!
Wow...what a special morning it was! Nick was especially touched by meeting his cousin...the last time he saw them it was 59 years ago when Jan & Norma got married!

We then traveled to Nijmegen (almost the German border) and met Wim Diemel and his wife Birgit!
Wim has done a marvelous job of a the Diemel Gynecology and together they discussed their search for the extended Diemel family!
Nick & Wim have been emailing for many years already so it was a blessing to meet him & his wife Birgit and "connect" in person!
We were warmly received and enjoy a nice visit with Wim & Birgit in the afternoon! So special to feel the connection with our relatives...close & distant....but the connection is there!
We enjoyed the wonderful weather and getting to know each other this afternoon!
What a great day it was!!!!!
Wim gave Nick a gift...the Diemel family has a famous artist in the family and he gave Nick 2 books by Mar Diemel....how very kind! What a treat for Nick....the artist!
We must stay in touch...Wim & Birgit!
